Why Use Nuvi Garmin 660 Compared to Other Navigators?

When compared to other navigators, Nuvi Garmin 660 is often voted to be the best owing to its unique and reliable features.

Some of the top features are the wide touch screen, two- and three-dimensional views of maps, customizable features, hands free call option, FM transmitter mode, slim and sleek design, portable, and is rechargeable. It also displays the speed limits of the major roads you are traveling. The FM transmitter option is available only in the product versions being sold in North America, France, New Zealand, Australia, and Europe. This is due to the compatibility problems with the network in other countries.

When we say customizable, it means that you can add in your points of interest to the software program in the product. If you like to add safety zones like schools or hospitals, you can do that. So next time you are near the location, you get an alert. There are preloaded maps in the devise which you can use while travelling. But if you feel that you can add a better map, the option is available.

Apart from the regular navigation features Nuvi Garmin 660 has the travel and entertainment features also in it. These include audio book player, currency converters, MP3 player, and picture viewers installed in it. So your travel is never a boring one ever. You can enjoy your whole trip and be updated about the place you are visiting. There is also an option to plug in SD cards into the program. Using these cards you can view and listen to the Travel guides and demos while you travel.

There are no separate speakers required to use the MP3 player or hear the voice prompts from the product. You can connect it to the stereo of your vehicle. There also is an internal speaker in the product. The Garmin lock is an anti theft feature in your product. You can disable the feature if you want to.

The product is slim and portable. The sleek design enables you to use GPS in your car, while you travel on a two wheeler or even while you walk. It can be recharged using the Lithium ion batteries sold along with it. It has a battery life of up to 6 hours.

The Bluetooth wireless technology being used in the Nuvi enables you to use your phone through it. You can use the touch pad of the product to make calls and answer the incoming calls. To make calls, the dial pad is available on the touch screen of the devise.

So, Nuvi Garmin 660 is a superior product as compared to its competitors and has all the features you would wish to have in a travel navigator. Most of the features are unique to this product. You can buy the product from the retail stores or even order it online. The instruction manual coming along with the product is of great help and guides you on the functioning.

The Top Three Barbie Games

While those are fun tasks, there is much more to Barbie games than most parents realize. If you decide to bite the plastic bullet and spend an afternoon playing Barbie games with your youngster, you can expect her to be playing one of the top three Barbies games enjoyed by young girls.

Dress Up

The most common game, especially with younger girls, is a simple game of dress up. Barbies come with a huge assortment of outfits, and there is nothing more rewarding than putting together an outfit and seeing the final product on your very own Barbie doll. Children learning to dress themselves might actually use Barbie dolls as a way to practice the critical skills, but for the most part, dressing up Barbie is just plain fun.

If you want to give your child a special treat, you don't need to buy her a new Barbie doll to add to the collection. Rather than spending your money on one doll with one outfit, surprise her with five new outfits that she can mix and match for her current Barbie doll. You might just have a young fashionista in the making.

Character Play

Once your child starts developing an active imagination, you can expect to hear voices coming from her Barbies - provided by your child, of course. This game is character play where each Barbie is assigned a role, or many roles, in an unfolding drama. The Princess Barbie needs help from the Friendly Barbie to defeat the Evil Barbie in time to hop in the Barbie Jeep and pick up Ken for a hot Barbie date.

When you play with your child during this sort of Barbie game, be sure you listen and understand the game and story before jumping in. Some children become incredibly agitated when the story changes unexpectedly. You might think it's funny to add Super Barbie to the mix, but she'll likely see it as an intrusion. Rather than grabbing a doll and making a new character, get her instructions on which character you should be in the current game she's playing.

Online Barbie Games

The newest form of Barbie game takes your child online. There are countless Barbie games online that let your child dress up Barbie in more outfits than you can imagine. The latest fashions are available on websites featuring dress up games, and with new outfits and dolls added daily, it's not hard to see why spending time online with Barbie is a new favorite activity of young girls.

Playing online Barbie games is simple enough. You should let your daughter have creative control, but you can encourage even more creativity by making up a story about why the doll is wearing a particular outfit or dressing different dolls for different roles in a story she's been working on. Then you can print the completed Barbies and have custom puppets ready to take on their designed characters.

A Solution-Focused Approach to Hearing Loss

It doesn't take a lot of effort to notice that we live in a problem-focused world. Any amount of television viewing is certain to bear witness to commercials that identify some human flaw that needs fixing, whether with a new detergent, a new car, or a new TV. It's hard to think of any commercial that has ever trumpeted, "You're doing great...keep it up, you don't need our product -- just thought we'd let you know." It's no wonder ""What's wrong?" is a vastly more common interpersonal statement than "What's going right?" While it might sell a lot of soap, when it comes to emotional issues, a problem-focused approach can keep us stuck. This can be illustrated with the oft-cited pink elephant: As you read this sentence, whatever you do, do NOT think of a pink elephant... Pretty darn difficult to avoid thinking of pink pachyderms, isn't it? The same is true for mental health issues. A depressed person who feels hopeless is better off identifying activities that make him feel a bit more hopeful rather than coming up with ways to feel less hopeless. It seems a simple lesson but hard to put into practice.

When it comes to hearing loss, it is not easy to apply a solution-focused approach. The trauma of the loss itself, the daily effort it takes to hear, and the frustration of dealing with friends and family who may not understand how to be helpful are real problems. That fact is not up for debate. However, one way forward is to learn to notice what is working and what is going right rather than what is NOT working.

Consider "Arthur" and "Donna". Donna's hearing loss has impacted how the couple functions at social gatherings. Arthur typically makes an effort to speak for Donna. He usually answers questions that others direct towards her and believes he is helping to keep her connected at the party. Unfortunately, this has just the opposite effect. Donna feels stigmatized and isolated -- as if she can't speak for herself. When they get home Donna alternately lashes out at Arthur complaining that he "treats her like a child" or is stone-cold silent; giving Arthur an unspoken message that he has done something wrong. In both cases, Arthur is confused because he thought he was being helpful and silently begins to resent Donna's "lack of appreciation" for him. Early on in counseling the couple engages in problem-focused conversations of trying to get the other person to stop their undesired behavior. But at this point emotions are so charged that neither Donna nor Arthur can stand to listen to the other's complaints. By now readers of the above pink elephant experiment are keenly aware that there comes a time when trying to NOT focus on something becomes impossible. For this reason, Donna and Arthur are encouraged to avoid talking about problems and to take a solution-focused approach.

Therapist: Donna, can you think of a recent time when you enjoyed going to a party with Arthur.

Donna: A whole party? No I can't.

Therapist: What about a moment at a party where Arthur was helpful.

Donna: Well, last week, when Sally asked me how the kids were doing, Arthur provided space for me to answer and it kind of sparked a conversation between Sally and me. It feels like I don't talk to a lot of people these days, so it felt really good.

Therapist: So you liked it when Arthur encouraged you to join in the conversation?

Donna: Yes. I felt like he really cared about me.

Therapist: Arthur, what's it like to hear Donna say that?

Arthur: You know, I'm kind of shocked. I really had no idea that's what she wanted me to do. I'm glad she told me.

The following solution-focused tips can be gleaned from the above brief vignette of a real case (with names and details changed to protect confidentiality).

· Take time to notice what your spouse/partner, friend or family member does well. While nobody is 100% perfect, nobody is 100% flawed. Something MUST be going right. Like Donna above, sometimes it takes looking for small moments that go well. For example: Let your children or grandchildren know that you really appreciate it when they face towards you and speak clearly. You'll be amazed at how quickly they respond to this positive reinforcement with more helpful behaviors.

· Let the other person know (a) What they did, (b) How it was helpful, and (c) That you'd love it if he/she did it again! Try to resist the urge to tag on any description of what they did NOT do well.

· The same approach can and should be taken by hearing family members. Encourage them to read this article and let them know that you'd like to learn from them what you do that is helpful. For example: "Mom, it's really helpful when you turn your hearing aid on when I'm with you. It makes me feel like you really want to listen to me."

· Remember, many of us are experts at noticing what is not working. Take time to practice noticing what IS working.

Overcome The Fear Of Public Speaking

Ever had butterflies in your stomach, that dizzy and nauseous feeling when asked to speak to a group of people?

Even days before, you seem somewhat uncontrollable and disoriented. And when you get to the rostrum or stage, you just want the floor to swallow you up? That feeling that gives you the jitters and that you just want to back out?

Alas, you are not the only one. I guess that would relieve you a bit, knowing you are not an isolated case. A lot of people are horrified having to talk in front of a group of people. You share this social phobia of public speaking with just about millions out there. It is one of the worst fears people have, in fact, in surveys, it came out as the number one fear.

Public speaking is when you speak to a group of people in a deliberate manner either intended to influence, entertain or inform your listeners. And the fear of that is public speaking anxiety. There are lots of ways to overcome this fear and soar high with your public speaking engagements.

These few tips may help prior to your public speaking date. Have a mind set that 99% of your worries do not actually happen, and that leaves only 1% that they do. So if you set your mind that you will not fumble, then you won’t. Do not memorize verbatim. It will baffle you once you lose a word or two. Instead it is advisable to have pointers or notes. Pause regularly, in that way you don’t get to speak so fast.

Emphasize on points that you are more familiar with. This is a great confidence booster. And when you are led to negative thoughts regarding your public speaking commitment, redirect these thoughts and focus more on positives. In that way, it will also attract another positive outcome.

Hypnosis also helps public speaking anxiety. It has been used for many years now to relieve nervousness. The fear of public speaking is all in the mind, the sub-conscious mind. Because you foresee pessimistic things, you tend to feel those negative effects. Through hypnosis, the mind is reprogrammed to have a different view of public speaking. It purges your mind of your negative expectations thereby positively attracting your mind to a successful presentation.

So dread no more. Conquer your fear and avoid those knots in your stomach.

How to Make Money While Traveling

What You Will Learn

You need money to travel and you need money while traveling. Savings are just part of the solution. You can also earn money while traveling. You need to have a legal method of making money while still working within the confines of traveling. Plan ahead and you will not only make money but meet many more people.

Savings Are Not Enough

Today, traveling the world is a wonderful experience and accessible to just about anyone, all it takes is a little money. The way most people go about funding their adventures is by saving up an allocated amount before hand. While this is necessary for most it's really only the first half of a well thought out traveling plan. Remember, anything can happen. So what if you are out and about in the world and your savings are lost or stolen? Or there's an emergency that you didn't budget for? Or, you simply want to stay on longer? By relying simply on your savings you've tied your hands to do what you can do with that amount of money and can't cover anything unexpected.

Have A Marketable Skill

This is where you need the second part of a travel plan, a universal marketable skill. If you have a skill that you can charge for no matter where you are your potential is never blocked. Whether for an emergency or just for spontaneous fun you will be able to make money on your travels and not be limited to your savings.

The Problem With Being a Waiter or Waitress

Now, most people feel that if they were to need to make money they could just find a job as a waitress or something. First of all, since most people think this most people will take this course of action making it more competitive for you. Also, a language barrier won't always allow you to find a minimum wage type job, and working permits make it even harder. This is where you thrive when you have a developed skill set while everyone else is competing for the same jobs. Particularly a skill set that you can use as an independent self-employed person.

What Type Of Skill Set Do You Need? When looking for such a skill set you want to make sure of two things. One, that the skill is universal. Meaning, there is a need for it no matter where you go. Two, that it travels with you. Meaning, you don't rely on large machinery to accomplish something. Beyond this the skill can be just about anything. Foreign languages, as an example, can be a real asset. You can find temporary work as a translator or tutor. Keep in mind that you not only have to be fluent but also know the second language. So, if you know Spanish fluently but are traveling in France you very well may be expected to know French when working as a tutor or translator.

Skills That Cross Language Barriers.

Hair cutting is a great skill that travels well. Not only can you find a job in a salon, but you can also offer to cut the hair of fellow travelers for a cheaper rate. Makeup artistry is a creative way to earn extra money. There are always people traveling for conferences, banquets, parties, and weddings and will want to look their best.

How To Find Clients

Post on travel sites your skill, where you'll be, and how to contact you. Also, go to the high end hotels and travel spots where the people are more likely to be traveling for an event. Leave your name and contact information with the concierge and offer a finder's fee for any guest he/she sends your way. How To Find And Develop Your Skill Set These are just a couple examples of skills that you can take with you while traveling. Take a look into your own life and personality and see if you can charge for anything you know how to do, don't over look anything. If you feel that you don't have a skill like the ones above there are very easy affordable ways to gain such a skill. You may not ever need to use it on your travels, but it's great to know it's there. An easy and inexpensive way to learn a skill you can use anywhere is through DVD. Check my resource box and start preparing for your next trip.

Hi Tech Greenhouses?

You probably don’t want to be constantly looking after your greenhouse yourself – opening the windows when it gets too hot, going round every few days and all the rest. It’s much easier to get automatic systems to do these chores for you.

To water your plants, you should install irrigation systems. These are basically small pipes that run underground and slowly release water into the soil – greenhouse models are very similar to the ones used on commercial farms, only smaller. These irrigation systems allow you to quite simply and easily set how much water your plants are getting with a tap, instead of you having to go and water them all by hand. Many plants will also respond better to being watered at the roots than they do to being watered on the topsoil, and they will often grow bigger, which is an added bonus.

The other thing you need is a cooling system. While it might seem odd to have a cooling system in a greenhouse, it is possible for them to get so hot inside that all the plants will get cooked and die, especially in a hot summer. Again, the cooling system will be a series of underground pipes, allowing hot air to be taken down underground and stored during the day, and then released when it is cooler in the night.

While greenhouses might seem to be quite basic things altogether, though, there’s nothing stopping you from going all high-tech with them. More advanced systems have electronic climate control, allowing you to set the exact temperature of your greenhouse, and will open and close underground tubes and other escape routes for hot air in order to keep the temperature in your greenhouse tightly controlled. This can be useful for growing plants that only do well in one specific climate, such as some kinds of tropical flowers.

United States vs. Gregory Reyes

I'm writing to offer my impressions of Greg Reyes Jr in advance of his sentencing with the hope that they may provide some perspective for your decision.

I'm a Partner at Sequoia Capital where I have worked since 1986. Sequoia Capital has helped organize and provided the original financing for a long list of well known technology companies that range from Apple in the 1970s to YouTube in recent years. I have served as a director of several of these companies including Yahoo!, Google, PayPal and Flextronics. Part of my experience with these, and other, public companies was to understand Wall Street's devotion to sales growth, operating income and cash flow and its complete disinterest in the non-cash items that seem to have come under such close scrutiny in the Brocade case.

I have known Greg since he was a young salesman working for Banyan Systems in the 1980s and have followed his career with great interest. He has always struck me as a highly energetic man with a forthright nature who is a fine leader of people. Greg has always had a reassuring and confident presence and, until his well publicized troubles began, there was never a shred of doubt about his good character. Prior to Greg's decision to join Brocade we were attempting to persuade him to become the Chief Executive Officer of one of Sequoia Capital's own companies. I am sure that Brocade would not be even half the company it is today without Greg's enthusiastic and dedicated leadership.

Common Hearing Aid Myths

MYTH: Hearing aids will cure hearing loss or restore a hearing impaired individual's hearing to normal.

TRUTH: No hearing aid will ever allow a hearing impaired individual to have normal hearing. A hearing aid just cannot provide what the ear and its intricate working of nerves can. What it can do is amplify sounds so that those wearing them can benefit from and enjoy a wide variety of listening situations. Hearing better helps one to respond appropriately thus improving communication skills.

MYTH: Hearing aids will resolve all of a hearing impaired individual's communication difficulties.

TRUTH: This is impossible, although hearing aids go a long way in helping a hearing impaired individual with their communication skills. Hearing aid wearers often still have problems following conversations when background noise is present or in noisy public settings, thus inhibiting their ability to communicate effectively in those situations.

MYTH: Hearing aids will destroy residual hearing.

TRUTH: Since hearing aids are prescribed according to an individual wearer's specific hearing loss, it would be a rare occurrence for a hearing aid to cause further damage to a person's hearing. There are several things a hearing impaired individual can do to further reduce the possibility of damage caused by hearing aids. They must be well maintained, worn correctly and well fitted.

MYTH: Smaller hearing aids have better technology.

TRUTH: Both larger hearing aids and smaller ones are equipped with cutting edge technology. The two most common types of hearing aids are behind the ear (BTE) and completely in the canal (CIC) hearing aids. Whether or not an individual will be able to wear a hearing aid that is nearly invisible to a casual observer, depends on the type of hearing impairment they have. The hearing aid that is most appropriate for one person's degree of impairment or listening needs, may not necessarily be best suited to another person.

MYTH: Hearing aids are not absolutely necessary for relatively minor hearing losses.

TRUTH: It is not advisable to put off obtaining hearing aids until hearing loss becomes a bigger problem. Over time the risk of permanent sound distortion increases. In this case, even when hearing aids amplify the volume of the spoken word it can still sound garbled.

MYTH: Hearing aids will not be effective for some types of hearing losses.

TRUTH: Generations ago people with certain types of hearing losses, such as high frequency, were told there was little or no help out there for them. With advances in hearing aid technology this is no longer true. Hearing aids are now effective for at least 95 % of hearing impaired individuals.

MYTH: Babies can't be fitted with hearing aids.

TRUTH: Actually infants as young as a month old can be fitted with hearing aids. With the increase in hearing tests for at risk newborns, hearing impairments are being detected earlier then ever and the world of hearing aid research and technology is doing its best to keep pace.

MYTH: It doesn't matter where hearing aids are purchased.

TRUTH: While buying hearing aids through mail order or off the internet may be less expensive, it is not necessarily advisable. By purchasing through these venues, a hearing aid consumer may be giving up the quality of care they will get by working with an audiologist. This includes things such as a qualified hearing evaluation, professional recommendations as to the most appropriate type of hearing aid, expert instruction regarding proper hearing aid usage, follow up care, etc.

Types Of Psychic Readings

When you contact a psychic, you might be overwhelmed by the different types of readings that they offer. Getting a general idea about the basics of each reading will help make your session with a psychic much more enjoyable.

A tarot card reading is one of the most popular types of psychic readings. During a tarot card reading, the psychic will ask you to focus your energy into the cards. The cards that come out and the position that they fall in will both affect your reading. The modern tarot cards that most psychics use is typically composed of twenty-two major arcane cards and fifty-six minor arcane cards.

If you request an astrology reading, the psychic will use your date of birth to let you know the direction that your life is headed in. This type of reading gains its predictions from the placement of the planets and the stars. There are several different types of astrology that an astrologer can use. These types include Chinese astrology, Western astrology and Indian astrology.

Numerology is another type of psychic reading that utilizes birth dates. A psychic will use the numbers related to your date of birth to come up with a number that can be associated to your type of personality. For example, a person with the number seven is controlled by Neptune and has an idealistic type of character.

A palm reading is another popular type of psychic reading. The psychic will be able to look at a client’s palms and tell a lot about their personality. They will use the shape of the hands, the lines on the hands and the person’s fingers to give an accurate reading. The lines on the hand particularly show many aspects of the person’s personality and their future destiny. The life line tells the length of your life, the head line provides insight into your type of personality and the heart line can give clues about your love life. The other lines include the fate line, health line, fame line, money line, marriage line, sex line, spirit line, travel line and luck line. A palm reader can read the special markings on these lines as well as garner meaning from the length and depth of the lines.

Rune readings are an additional service that a psychic may offer. Runes have been around for thousands of years and have been shown to attain mystical characteristics. A rune reading consists of twenty-four runes laid out in a spread. There are different types of spreads including the traditional spread of three that represents the past, present and future. The materials that the runes are made out of affects the reading as well. Ceramic, stone, wood and gold runes are each used to answer different life questions.

An aura reading can also be conducted when you visit a psychic. This type of reading involves the interpretation of the aura that surrounds a person. An aura is a color outline that emanates from the body and varies from person to person. Auras can be different sizes, shapes and colors. A psychic that can read auras can see or sense a person’s aura and give their interpretation of it.

If you are looking for specific advice or insight, you may wish to visit a psychic that only specializes in one or two areas. Some of the readings must be conducted face to face, but most can be distant readings that are done over the telephone or the Internet. Whichever type of psychic reading you choose, you will be amazed at the insightful things that a psychic can tell you about your life.
